SPEAKERS:
Rod Johnston, MBA, CMA, Owner and Principal Broker, Omni Practice Group – Rod’s background in accounting, finance, sales, and real estate makes him one of the most well-rounded practice transition consultants in America. Rod has an MBA from Seattle University and is a Certified Management Accountant. He is also an Accredited Business Appraiser by the Institute of Business Appraisers. Rod’s experience and background include stints as a financial planner, as Assistant Treasurer and Director of Accounting for AT&T Wireless, and as a Commercial Broker for Keller-Williams and Omni Healthcare Real Estate. Rod started Omni in 2004 with two things in mind; to provide a Nordstrom-like service to help doctors with their transition, and to be an expert resource to medical professionals in the fields we work in. He has developed systems and processes in the brokerage industry that are mimicked and copied throughout the nation. He and his company have transitioned hundreds of practices with great success while maintaining a “win-win” relationship between his clients.
John McCracken, BBA, Transition Specialist, Omni Veterinary Practice Group – John holds a BBA degree from Texas State University and comes with 20+ years of experience in end-to-end accounts, growth strategies, new business development, and regional sales management operation for top-tier veterinary corporations. His professional experience includes serving as a Regional Sales Manager, a Regional Business Development Manager, and as a Zone Analyst/Customer Manager. He holds AAHA VMI Certification, AAHA Action Selling Certification, Excellence in Speaking Certification, Ty Boyd Institute Consultative Selling Skills Certification, and Toastmasters International Certification. He is a sought-after speaker in the Southwest states.
Alexandra Kohrs – Regional Sales Manager for Bank of America Practice Solutions’ veterinary division, overseeing the Texas territory exclusively. She provides creative financing solutions for associates & business owners looking to acquire, start, or expand their own business. Alexandra is dedicated to the industry by putting a roadmap together for a client to explore the right financing solutions that is the right fit for them. She has the financial background as a former financial advisor at Merrill Lynch, followed by being in a similar role as a regional sales manager for Practice Solutions working in different markets across the country which provided exposure to work in different types of transition scenarios. She has helped hundreds of practice owners buy, expand, or transition their dream practice over the last decade and wouldn’t do anything else! Her current role primarily focuses on providing financing solutions for veterinarians entertaining practice ownership- she works extensively with transition brokers, attorneys, CPA’s, contractors, equipment vendors & consultants, and always is willing to help facilitate introductions to the right team for her clients for a smooth transition. She is often hosting transition seminars and other educational speaking engagements at various schools, conventions, societies & local events providing education regarding practice ownership. Her eccentric personality and passion for this line of work is always shown in her dedication to helping clients fulfill their dream of owning a practice, and she is there every step of the way. Alexandra has a Finance degree from University of Oregon Lundquist College of Business. She is actively a member of numerous veterinary leadership boards, annual CE /RACE speaker at SWVS, WVC & VMX, amongst other speaking engagements related to practice ownership. As a member VetPartners, she can provide some additional resources to our practice owners and leveraging the relationships and professional contacts via that network. Her extensive work in the transition space has provided the opportunity to be an author as well to share her insights. Alexandra is a mother of four under two-and-a-half; she has identical triplet girls and a boy, which keeps her and her husband extra busy! She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling to new places and supporting local charitable organizations that are dear to her.
Lance Metcalf – licensed business and real estate attorney and Certified Public Accountant, practicing in the Dallas / Fort Worth area of Texas and representing clients across the state. Lance has been serving as a representative and advisor to business clients for 30 years. Prior to entering his private legal practice, Lance spent 10 years as a CPA representing individual and business clients with business and taxation planning services. For the last 20+ years, Lance has been practicing as a business transactional and commercial real estate attorney. Lance’s legal practice has included representation of business clients with mergers & acquisitions (M&A) transactions serving both as lead and/or a member of a transactional team, partner buyouts, business entity formation and restructuring, contract negotiation, review and preparation, franchising, commercial leasing, commercial real estate acquisition and development, and general business advice.
